Str00dle 5cudo Build
« on: January 18, 2011, 12:56:47 PM »
Hi Guys

I have been hanging around this site for the best part of a year while i have been saving up for a kit.  The idea is that me and my brother are going to build a 5cudo for him first and then one for me.  We originally planned a 360 then a 430 but after hearing the exhaust note on the cougar before the kit was even finished we were hooked.

I have been following BillyWiz build every day and look forward to his updates, we did all the shows last year as well as a couple of visits to DNA where the guys are so helpful and always take the time to discuss things.

Since November we have been looking around for a decent Cougar in the Reading area for months, they seem hard to come by and most the time stupidly priced.  But as luck would have it after 3 months of looking 2 came up in the same week.  So we acted quickly and now have the 2 cougars we need.

Off to DNA tomorrow to place the order. And here begins the build Diary

All the best guys, looks like these kits are flying out of DNA's doors. You'll be happy with your choice of kit, I look forward to the build thread, make sure you take loads of pictures, I got a little too carried away with the build to take that many!!!
Why put off 'til tomorrow what you can do today?

Hi Str00dle,

Look forward to you build mate, the second one should be a doddle. I like your idea to do your brothers first, then yours will be perfect having made any mistakes on his. lol.

Just kidding, bet they'll both be awesome. And i understand what you mean about the exhaust, it does sound brutal.

Best of luck, keep us all posted.

Beany ;D

Thanks for all the nice comments guys and to Roland for us wasting lots of his time yesterday with questions.  The first kit is now ordered so the build should begin around mid March.  Just need a trailer, a van and to get my other car out of the garage so i have the space to build it.
We don't think we will have it finished for stoneleigh but we will be there to meet some of you guys and to see all the new builds, not that you can miss Beany's Banana :)

Agree with you splne1. I think people are choosing the 5cudo over the 430 or 360 because of that astonishing exhaust note

I'll be waiting for every post now hehe.

HI Guys

So my cougar arrived back this week and its now time to get started on the prep work,
just a few quick questions for the 5cudo builders out there.
which is the best route to take the battery cable, under the car, through it?
do the bolts on the top to the coilovers need to be screwed all the way down to the end of the screw thread?

cheers guys for any advice, i will take photos today as we go and get them posted up tomorrow.
